A New Beginning Poem by Addy Adenawo

A New Beginning

The decay of a seed helps spring forth a new bud
That would one day grow to be a tree, big and strong
Life's like a gift horse; don't look it in the mouth
As fragile as egg shells; trend softly around the wild route
As we watch the dying embers of the old
Welcoming the new with its bright hopeful glow
Pushing old hurts into the never ending yesterdays
Opening up to new loves and making them the mainstay
As dusk vanishes and gives way to the dawn
The moon and the stars melt away for the blue sky and brilliant sun
Break out of a shell, inhale and bask in its glory
Dance to the ancient rhythm of the wind as it whisk away every worry
Chant with heart felt gratitude its sacred ode
Swirl in its ever sultry flow
See the aches melt away like wax
And the burdens drop from your back
A chance to start all over, on a new page
A phoenix rising from its ashes, its dues paid
Another chance to cherish and fill with meaning
A brand new day, a new beginning
