A Never Ending Walk Poem by Stephen Howard

A Never Ending Walk

A single tear arises in thine eye.
She walks away with a snow white scarf around her soft
neck.
Swallowing the remnants of pride
'I Love You! '
Yet she walks away untouched by my quivering voice.
Chasing after her, I yell.
'I Love you! ' she continues to glide further away.
Now sprinting I pursue but all I see of her is a speckle on the
horizon.
Knowing that I will never kiss her warm gentle lips again...
Knowing that she is afar from me...
Knowing that I can never move forward...
I sit, weeping like a child.
All the tears in my body being ushered out for this one
woman.
I slowly head into oblivion.
