A Neutral Man Poem by Pete Rivera

A Neutral Man

Rating: 5.0

I always thought that if I was nice
Then she'd be subtle
Who was I to think that?
A mere, lonely shadow

Then everyone came to the lot
To annoy us
And they asked us questions
Oh, silly questions

I've got my eyes on her remorse
I follow her throughout her course
Then I remain a neutral man
To see her walk away again

All these believers think good things always last
They're sadly mistaken
I am forsaken
Oh, I am forsaken

My love in my heart looked me in the eyes
Then turned away
Toward the moonlight
I saw no moonlight

Oh, am I really here?
What is this fear?

I've got my eyes on her remorse
I follow her throughout her course
Then I remain a neutral man
To see her walk away again

So many people
So many people
I can see them from the stars
I can see them from the stars

Oh a shining down
Gone for so long
She walked away
Without a care in the world

I've got my eyes on her remorse
I follow her throughout her course
Then I remain a neutral man
To see her walk away again
