A Neighborhood Poem by Sebastian Soberania

A Neighborhood

i've been away
no one asked where i was
but i do not mind
this is what i have chosen
i am a closely guarded secret
enjoying the luxury
of my privacy
but to tell you the truth
i get lonely sometimes
for after all
i am just an ordinary man
needing
a conversation
now i am back
to the usual house
nothing's changed
about my neighbors
whose doors like mine
are always closed
this exclusivity
i do not know
if they too feel
what i feel

it is slowly killing us
no one writes about it
but everyone knows it
two many rich people here
but most empty still
