A Mother Wants To See Her Daughter Poem by Elia Michael

A Mother Wants To See Her Daughter

A mother wants to see her daughter
But she lives across the water
A mother has a very strong bond
And she wants to fly across the pond

She is not far off a century
Will they even give her entry?
And can she get travel insurance?
If yes, she’ll still need reassurance

For she is old and is very frail
She is weak and her skin is pale
She can only walk a short distance
And often needs wheelchair assistance

The daughter wants to see her mother
But she lives across the water
A daughter has a very strong bond
But she cannot fly across the pond

As her husband needs to be cared for
She has to do chore after chore
It is difficult for her to leave
There’s no easy answer I believe
