A Mother's Cozy Nest Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

A Mother's Cozy Nest

Rating: 4.7

How I miss that cozy nest
Her warm, loving touch
As she sang me sweet lullabies
To lull me asleep.

How I miss those simple bedtime stories
Which still crowd my childhood memories,
Her fingers ambling on my forehead
Reassuringly as I fell asleep in bed.

How I miss her stern look
When I failed to pick up my book,
Her warm encouraging words
When I was just a fledgling bird.

Now that I have flown out of the nest
Into a tumultuous world in my individual quest,
I know no conquests under the wings
Can to me those sublime joys bring.

Beautiful poem on the never failing love and concern of a mother! As fledglings, we sought warmth under her sheltering wings! Now since we have flown away from the nest, we miss so much of her loving assurance and touch! I can so well relate to this poem.... in fact everyone can! Enjoyed!

Thank you dear Aftab and Valsa for your beautiful comments. Mother is like the Sun that radiates warmth and light. She is the one who loves us unconditionally, guides us with her light and protect us from vagaries of life.
