A Moment Of Clarity Poem by Jeremy Horsford

A Moment Of Clarity

Rating: 3.5

I have spent my life wandering the sands
of time, hoping to find another pair of
footprints.

Drifting to dehydration, mirages began to
take hold.

What I thought was water, was nothing but
a puddle of hope.

I was found face down in hope and was
rescued.

I awoke to the warmth of a fire, yet still
full of dreams.

Desperate to feel love, I held the outline
of the impression in the mattress beside me.

My thoughts drew my eyes to the flames and
my fears were realised...my heart no
longer beat for life, but beat to live.

The fate of a broken soul is all but to
be realised.

The departure of hope, life and love. An
existence without purpose, left to wander
the lands mourning past dreams.

To reshape the world through a poem is a great event and you do it my dear.Pay attention to what in poesy is called chasmody.A verse has to has a meaning in itself.Do not cut it in two verses to complete its meaning.
