A Mirage Poem by Phil Soar

A Mirage

Blinking
My palms shading my eyes
The sun so strong it hurt me
Effortlessly causing pain
Making me see things that are not there
Drawing me further across the sands
With promises of life
Only to snatch them away with nothing
Just more grains
And more miles of nothing
