A Memorial Poem by Patricia Grantham

A Memorial

Rating: 5.0

Risked their lives to protect and defend
Separation from family took time to mend
Walked on mine fields, waded through waters
Left behind many wives, sons and daughters

Fought for our country to keep it free
All are the heroes who died for you and me
Some battles was lost and others were won
Toiling until the rising and setting of the sun

Looking to the flag that will ever stand tall
The red, white and blue means freedom for all
To all who died or continues to pay the cost
The star spangled banner ever echoing our loss

Beautiful poem! We shall remember the bravery the war heroes had and the sacrifice they took to let us live in peace GBNF. 💖

A beautiful tribute to the war heroes who left their belongings and dear ones behind and even sacrificed their lives to keep their country's flag flying proudly aloft! Enjoyed reading this sweetly rhyming poem, Pat!

Sacrifices made for freedom need to be recognized. A great poem reminding us about this.
