A Matter Of Focus Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

A Matter Of Focus

If we focus on the dark
We won't find our way,
We won't make our mark
With the words we say.

If we hold on to history
We always look back,
We fail eventually
Roads ahead, we lose track.

We can't write our name
Or see our identity,
And the dark takes the blame
With our focus, gone awry.

There is no direction
For the man without sight,
In the dark there's no vision
In the dark, there's no light.
