A Magnanimous Act Of Kindness On Her Part (In That She Didn'T Cut Off His Balls) Poem by Ted Sheridan

A Magnanimous Act Of Kindness On Her Part (In That She Didn'T Cut Off His Balls)

Rating: 4.9

There was the flash of cold steel
as the long thin blades of the scissors
disappeared into the fine fabric of his heavy coat
Drunk and passed out.....
He would never again require it's warmth.
There was the sound of his last breath
as it escaped through the hole in his punctured lung.
His last words spilled out like vomit
on the master bedroom's defiled floor
slightly muffled
by the gurgling of blood which flowed freely
from his open and Liar's mouth.
'Why? he gasped.....
I loved you more than anyone could ever love you.'
Leaving all us to surmise.....
That just maybe
his daughter didn't think it appropriate
so she bid him Godspeed and kissed him Goodnight
for the very last time......

Chilling.... spine-tingling.... evocative: not a word too many, not a word too few. A picture conjured up as much by what is left unsaid as said. Tightly-reined emotion.... I could go on about this one forever. Best poem I've read all year.

I think you say it loud and clear here, nothing really left to the imagination. She had finally taken enough abuse by someone she should have been able to trust. He took that trust, threw it away and used his power over her day after day. The end is tragic for she now must live with this for the rest of her life and healing may never come. I hope many pedophiles, child molesters, monsters etc. whatever we want to call them, I hope they read and heed the message here. Excellent work once again Ted.--Melvina--
