A.M. Reverie Poem by Cheryl Renaud

A.M. Reverie

my piano is silent
it is time to put the top down

there are faces that part
in their greeting

any good now, to deliberate
love is better than ice cream

cool as music
in possession and in gift

bolder than this hotel room
with red flowers in a vase

and a cheek to render passion
arms to match

this tired, limp figure and so...
divide my skin fresh

from toil next to the gas station,
oh, far, far away...
