A Lover Feels The Pain Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

A Lover Feels The Pain

A lover feels the longing
A lover feels the pain
A lover bleeds the blood
And often carries it's stain

A lover is the dreamer
Whose heart walks the plank
A lover is the silent screamer
When dreams of love just sank

A lover feels love's virtue
and know that it can hurt you
That true love is desire
A lover feels loves fire

A love kisses softly
As if each kiss is the last
A lover knows best
That life moves by way too fast

A lover cries at night
Knows that nobody hears the plea
A lover hangs on through heartache
Though through it's fog they cannot see

A lover climbs mountains
No matter how impossible or high
and risks reaching the peak alone
if just to breathe a lonely sigh

A lover knows all the pain
of giving love in vain
A lover risks defeat
and does so time and again

A lover holds on longer
To follow a feeling in their heart
A feeling that touches them inside
From the very start

And if you should find a lover
You'd best treat them kind
Because a lover like that
Is so hard to ever find
