without you

It petrifies my heart
thinking of the days
that no longer
invade my room.

that cherish
the memories of my life

the world glistens for me
as i remember your smile.

taking shape upon our lives
making ripples of sunshine
shimmer across our lives.

i sing a love song
with your smile
with tears upon my eyes.

the sorrows that
lie hidden
upon the empty days
of my life.

i sing
of sombre winter evenings
and lonely summer nights.

i sing
because i can
of the times that truly mattered
of the moments that perished
like petals from a rose.

for you
to celebrate you
to fondly kiss your thoughts
of tears and sunshine
of shade and horror
