A Love Dove - Paloma Poem by Louie Levy

A Love Dove - Paloma

Purr, my kitten white

One morning there you were
at me looking in and
I looking out

Void of feelings,
my heart barren,
your green lantern eyes
among the leaves of
fern and an olive tree

Homeless, but for a windowsill,
beckoning at my heart to fill
Rejection! was my reaction,
as was yours of love,
my heart took action

You came upon my threshold,
you knew, you felt, you found,
another lost and alone...

Oh kitten, lost kitten,
two hearts joined astray

Purring vibrations
at my breast you rest
You've touched my spirit,

'I've become your Pet'
