A Long Day Poem by Raj Arumugam

A Long Day

I walk into the bar
Sure I've had a drink or two
even before I came in here
but I'll show you I've got my wits about
always and full and bright

See, Iwalk up to the bartender
And he smiles and he says to me:
"Had a long day? "

I hear him right; do you hear him?
and I answer that imbecile:
"All days are 24 hours long, you Bozo!
No day is longer than another, you dumbo! "

See, what did I tell you?
Sure I've had a drink or two
even before I came in here
but see, I've got my wits about
always and full and bright
