A Little More Patience, My Lady Poem by Obed dela Cruz

A Little More Patience, My Lady

Do not cry; you are not alone.
You’re not the only one who patiently waits–
Asking God if there is someone
Whom He has set aside for you
So life will never always be on your own.

I am waiting with you, my dear.
I am also spending my nights in prayer.
Every day, I refuse to listen
What the world has been telling me
Because there will come a time things will all be clear–

That you and I were meant to be;
You and I waited for something special.
No one else could have ever thought
Of what our hearts can only know
When God already answers our faithful plea.

It will be revealed to us soon
And we will be walking together knowing
That after all there is someone
God had set for us to live with
And share together in one holy commune.

A little more patience, my lady.
A little more prayer, my partner.
It is not for us to rush the times.
But do not worry, there’s always an answer.
