A Lily In Winter Poem by Martins Akhoeneto

A Lily In Winter

I heard your voice, piercing the wind
Bringing solace to a decayed heart
In dosages, bundle of pain anaesthia
O’ jewel of divine worth
Clothed in your veil of purity
And never wane, even at thy slightest call
Respecter of humanity, diligent in worship
As an almond cleft to its branch
Hater of doom, distinct amidst ladies
On me you bestow guts to thread on melting eyes
If ever given the honour, I’ll call u lily
For lilies are charming flowers,
Perfumed with heaven’s fragrance, like rose
You stand conspicuous to my tender eyes.
Eternity crowns you. Eternity binds us.
