A Light In The Dark Poem by Edwina Reizer

A Light In The Dark

Out in the swell of the deep blue
The ships out on the sea
Sail with confidence in the night,
Sail on fearlessly.

For in the back of their mind they know
That on many a rocky shore
Stands their solid protector
When the waves do roar.

And so the lighthouse does its job,
Each and every one.
All of them different in design
But for the lighted beacon.

Visiting them is a reminder to all
How wonderful it is to see
That all the lighthouses that still stand
Are the seamen's serenity.
