A Liberal Nother Poem by Karen Thomson

A Liberal Nother

I'm a liberal mother
I steal my daughter's claes
I wear wonderbras and mini skirts
she wears vests and leggings
I go partying till all hours
she goes to M74 meetings
and lectures me on late nights and early mornings
I roll a joint and slam doors
she shakes her head
and hopes that i'll grow up eventually
she's merr sensible
than I'll ever be
but still
i'm buying her a handgun
and a lifetime's supply of bullets
for her 16th birthday
