A Letter For You Poem by Emelita C. Smith

A Letter For You

A Letter for You

I feel the change in you.
You don't look at me the way you did before.
Where is the love light in your eyes when you see me?
Where is the passion that heats you up when we chat?
Where the attention before is never divided?
Where is the sparks that lights up when we are together?
NO more excited voice on the phone when you call.
Are you feeling cold for me lover?
Is there someone who keeps you warm in bed?
Is there another who makes your passion soar?
Do you still care or we are just a responsibility need to perform?
You still say you love me but I feel it is only for duty.
Where is the eagerness when we talked?
Is somebody occupy your time and mind?
I feel the magic in us slowly fading.
I am trying to hold it tight but it seems not working.
Money is the only thing that makes us connected.
I have doubts about it before but now I'm sure.
I thought love connects us because that is how I feel for us.
But then right now I am not so sure about that.
There is just one favor I ask, please don't give me false hope.
I am hoping you really want us to be there with you.
But since the beginning I have a feeling you're in doubt by doing so.
Why can't you just tell me right in front of my face?
If you have doubts so am I.
But then, I need to take a chance with you.
If I'm wrong then, at least I give it a try.
But as I said, I don't want to be there just for duty.
I want to be there because you want me to be with you.
But if the fate intervenes and not let us be together.
I will just talk to the moon and the star about my love for you.

Signed with love forever true.
