A Letter for Mama

My mother heard from lil sis that I wont attend her funeral
She asked me to call her and explain y
But all I did was cry
How can I lay to a rest such a huge part of my life
If she has to go then whats the use of me still being alive
They say ashes to ashes and dust to dust
There is no way I’m letting you go not with all the memories we have from the past
Y cant life be something that last
And not one that ends and draws loved ones apart
When they make your coffin they shud make it a double 1 just like eleven
Coz I wanna be laid beside you on your trip to heaven
If life was a game of cards
Then u wud be the queen of my heart
Engraved as if carved on stone
U will live there forever and comfort me when I’m sad and alone
I’ll take care of lil sis and make sure her life is total bliss
Buy her even the little things like shoes and sox
Just like Beyonce said I’ll be her rock
Life is only worth living if u living it with a purpose
The purpose for me living was to make sure I build u and lil sis a true life fortress
So please don’t go yet I still have a lot for you to see
From your grandson, my marriage and how I turned my fairytale to reality

This is a letter for mama
If she is to weak to read then please narrate it for her
I’ll give up my own life in order to save hers
Making sure she feels well is my main priority
That’s the only time in my life I’ll find some serenity
If love is a feeling then my feelings have gone far beyond that
Having a mama like you in my life is something I’ll never forget
Coz everything u’ve tot me I’ve done without regrets
This is a letter for mama
Even though words cant explain how much I really love her

I remember those emotional moments when u held me in your arms
Your promised neva to let me go so don’t expect me to do so
I am a man raised by a women who possess such great strength
Dats y everyday of my life I’ll praise her name with every breath
No one has to live with sorrow becoz there is a better day tomorrow
Those where the words u told me that’s y I have so many dreams to follow
When things are bad u said I must kneel down and always say a little prayer
If mine gets answered then we’ll be together for eva
U said to make ends meet there is nothing rong with handing out flyers
As long as I stay away from those drug suppliers
Your words comforted me in times of heart ache and pain
If u leave now how sure are u I’ll see u again
Memories we have hang in my head like a frame
Tattooed in my heart for ever like a stain
U did things to makes sure I’m always happy
And even when I disrespected you, you still forgave me
I know it was never easy for us most of the time
But even thru darkest of times u brought to my life sunshine
I cud have turned out differently becoz of the absence of my father
But who needs a father when I have u as a mother
U hit me to make me a better man
Even tho at a younger age I did not understand
But with every year that passed I knew you did coz u cared
Now I know what it is to be a parent
It goes beyond only being able to buy your child presents
Coz u where always in my life and neva absent
This is a letter for mama
Sincerely
Your child that loves yah
