A Leper Gives Thanks Poem by Cindy Wyatt

In the bible there is a story
about a leper who gave God the glory
Ten lepers had cried out for mercy
whom Jesus did heal
But only one turned back to give thanks
for this miraculous healing so real
The other nine lepers
just went on their way
They didn't even take the time for thanks
to the Lord to say
I was once a leper too
diseased with sin in my soul
but when I asked Jesus for mercy
he made me whole
Like the one leper
I want to give Jesus thanks
for saving me with his mercy
and pulling me out of sin's ranks


Luke 17: 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God.
17: 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
