A Jerk In The Banking System Poem by chris dawson

A Jerk In The Banking System

I visited the bank today,
a deposit to be made;
an un-nerving experience,
that I fouled up I’m afraid.
Admittedly there was privacy,
with a magazine to read,
but in such an environment
I was never to succeed.
When I asked to see the manager,
to get a helping hand,
he refused my application -
such assistance had been banned.
So there I stood pathetically,
having failed in my task,
waiting for tea and biscuits…
holding an empty flask.

This one needs a spell check on one word. This poem was described as if it were a visit to a doctor. So I assume this was no ordinary bank, if you know what I mean. That makes this writing a little too obscure for my taste but it also makes it quite funny. All in all, I suppose that funny is best. GW62
