A House Poem by Juan Olivarez

A House

Rating: 5.0

Inside my chest there is a house,
Where many feet have tread.
Behind a sturdy bony blouse,
Where many stories have been read.

All doors and windows will remain,
Forever open in this house.
So that no one can e'er refrain,
From coming in or going out.

All are welcome in my house,
No matter what or who you are.
The light therein i'll never douse,
That it may be seen from afar.

Your words, from the heart obviously, are so warm and welcoming... makes me glad to 'know' you my friend. Only a man with grace and wisdom could write so wonderfully. Great poem!

O my, this is awesome! Inside my chest there is a house..the heart being the foundation...where many feet have tread! Extreme metaphor, well expressed. All of what we should represent. Like a light set upon a hill for all to see. Enjoyable read: D
