A Hoku Threne Poem by Morgan Michaels

A Hoku Threne

I have heard the song
of the blackbird, the bluebird-
the bluebird's has phrasing.

Sweet state of Unrest
next to every other state
you would seem the best.

If to die's to tire
of your blues, dewy lupine
I am immortal.
