A Heart's Plea Poem by Adrianne Quinlan

A Heart's Plea

Rating: 1.0

A bit of sun-shine,
I plea,
To enter a promising day.

Yet, sadly,
I find my world,
But blind,
And deepest gray.

Appear,
And give me sweet light,
My love,

That I may leap to day's first flight,
And soar with thee,
One, together
To meet the heaven's night.

I have been wandering this labyrinth of poems at POEMHUNTER when my eye caught your title A HEART'S PLEA, I could not resist that title. What I found was your perfect jewel of a Lyric Poem, with all of the virtues of a true poem - it's concise, sensory, specific, sweet, universal. The way in which you create through words the pleasant day nature has denied us is deft and fleet. And bringing a loved one on your flight at the end is a lovely generous gesture. I'm struggling to find the words to show my appreciation, and probably overstating my case. But good poems dazzle me, and your poem is good beyond words of praise.
