A Glorification Poem by Sarojkanta Dash

A Glorification

Rating: 4.5

Flickering fire
Hides itself
In the sparkling eyes of
A damsel-
Lest the spark of her abysmal desire
Diminish its glory.
The soul trapped within
The damsel is violently disturbed
By her volcanic passion,
But dumb-
Lest it would be extirpated.

Eyes roll heavenwards
In a battle of wills
Deep within, the wall
Of patience crumbles,
Squatting on the debris of desire
To be heard
The buff just manages a shriek;
Screws up the eyes
Against the glare emanating
From her being.

No shield works
When heart burns,
When love is burdened with
Unshed tears
It is the eyes that prickle
And redden.

No egg big or small
Can have too many options
In a hatchery,
It must bake to have the brood of
Love.

Such a defeat!
Such is the victory!
