A Girl Named Lotus Poem by Lyrael Myrna

A Girl Named Lotus

Rating: 4.7

Jealous, green with envy
Is one girl who sits and waits
For hours she is seething
And refuses to participate

She sees her friend in golden garb
And wants to be there too
She gets up and is surprised
To hear an awful you

The crowd all love this girl in gold
She is happy to be true
Not afraid to get up out there
And play her melodies through

But envious one girl sits
And thinks why won’t they notice me?
I’m trying to perform here
I’m just a girl named Lotus Tree

Every day I see my friend
She’s gold and I am green
I want her to shut up and end
I just want to be for once seen

The girl in gold knows this
She can’t help the crowd around
They love her each time, a bit more
They let her talents be found

Envy strikes like arrows
Into Lotus’s heart
She wants to be known
But doesn’t bother to start

Life is always give or take
Sometimes we aren’t the best
At what we think we’re good at
It’s really up to the rest

If we remain jealous
Of what we see around
If we remain underneath
We’ll never be found
