A Girl

I saw a girl
With hair curl
She is slim like cucumber
Her cheeks are like tomatoes
Her figure is like a lady's finger
Her teeth are like pomegranate
Her eyes are like pea-nuts
Her face is like a water-melon
Her beauty is full of similes
From the green vegetables

Poem of the Day

poet Pablo Neruda

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
