A Ghostly Moan Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A Ghostly Moan

The spooky atmosphere was charged with electricity
The fur upon my black cat's back stood up straight
A crack of sizzling lightening split the night in half
as thunder shook the house increasing my heart rate

Icy fingers seized my spine as I heard a grim ghostly moan
I peered out the window and saw a masked face staring
back... giving me a sudden urge to immediately call 911
There was a knock at the door and sounds of swearing

'Trick or Treat, ' a tall candy beggar implored…'I tripped
and fell…on your rain soaked steps this Halloween night! '
