A Gallant Knight Poem by Angelo Ventresco

A Gallant Knight

He was her knight in shining armor
high upon his white steed.
Sworn to protect his princess,
from dragons and evil deeds.
Dragons he slew aplenty,
and evil doers were driven away,
to protect his beloved princess never did he stray.
The challenges were many,
and for her honor he had fought.
Alas, the toll of life and strife
had left him quite distraught.
With armor creased and tarnished,
and lance that matched the sway of his old horse.
Still he protected his love, his princess,
till life had run its course.
Who is this courages knight who fought so gallantl
Why none other than the Prince of Abbruzzi,
from sunny Italy.
