A Friend For Eternity Poem by Garrett Westcott

A Friend For Eternity

As I sail through life's open seas
Some years the wind blows fair
Some years the wind knocks me off my feet
Though the storms billow and howl
I know my Savior will calm the gales
And if I do go down with the ship
I'll walk through heaven's gates at the end of the trip

-Chorus-
When times were tough
You were there for me
A shield from danger
And a friend for eternity

You gave me my life, a reason to live
Since You showed me the way
The scales are beginning to tip
My job, my health, my family, and friends
All the blessings I have are from heaven sent
The war, it still rages on into the night
But God is my beacon, my King, and my life
