A Fresh Start Poem by Carmina Abrenica

A Fresh Start

Your hazel eyes, the first thing I've seen
Today, I know another year it has been
A blanket of roses I was warmly wrapped in
Even in predicament, in your shoulders I lean

The echoed breathings of my heart
In this paper, I will do a hill start
Words may be easy to compart
But may also be that of Descartes'

A wonderful melting pot we truly are
As one, our souls rhythmically dance
Our arms alike plumes of incandescent star
Every moment we have what a divine chance

My shades of hope as I walk in the lane
Shall not cease even in a sea of disdain
With felicity, I wake up to your sweet refrains
The affluence of your love keeps me sane

May ours always be clothed in silken peace
That neither the drops of rain nor rage of sun
Shall soak or burn our correspondence fleece
In all of our dawns and dusks of the long run

Your hazel eyes, the last thing I will long to see
And the peck on my lips I'm endowed with glee
With time in motion you bid farewell temporarily
Counting days up to seven 'til together again finally
