A Former Life Poem by Paul Reed

A Former Life

A former life
Lying in the bottom of a drawer
Photographs of times long past
Now no more,
Pictures of good things
A few that were bad
Happy, smiling faces
A few that were sad,
People still here
Some just clinging on
Some who have changed
Some who have gone,
Forgotten sunny days
Or laughing in the rain
Moments of joy
If we could live them again,
If time could only re-wind
If the song be re-sung
If we could have another chance
If we were young.
