A Forbidden Winter Poem by Hopeless Heart

A Forbidden Winter

Out of your reach,
Words you cannot speak,
A love that cannot be,
A future we cannot see,

Forbidden by law
But seen by all,
Rumours are spread
As we lay in bed.

They talk about you
All the things you do,
All the things you’ve said
And the lies you’ve bleed,

They talk about me
And how this shouldn’t be,
How I don’t know
About the feelings I show,

If only they knew
How much I love you,
If only they could see
What we could be.
