A Fish Tale Poem by John Gabriel

A Fish Tale

You should of seen the huge fish that I caught
for over an hour it struggled and fought

In all honesty thou I took my time
only using 2 lb. test for a fishing line

I had to keep giving the line some slack
my fishing pole started to bend and crack

Certainly I earned bragging rights for sure
with only a small twig and hook for a lure

In the end I dragged the monster ashore
but then threw it back to fight once more

It was my third largest fish ever to hook
another fish for my world record book
