A Fish Out Of Water Poem by Mark Heathcote

A Fish Out Of Water

Slivering across glass
as the spinal river
moved on beneath her
pelvic fins, impasse
a fish out of the water
gills exposed in full
breathless, panting
This is love
using an expletive
Me, at last, she said.'
