A Final Request Poem by Michelle Dickson

A Final Request

Hey, Becca.
Would you do me a favor?
Would you laugh for me?
And show me a smile?
Let me know that
My life was worthwhile.
Smile to heaven so that I can see
That you’re okay without me.
I may be gone from you now
But I’ll be protecting you
Someway, somehow.
Tell Carter I love him
And wished to see him grow
But that I’ve just fallen too low.
I’ve known you forever
Just as you’ve known me
So keep me alive
In your memories.
Please smile for me.
