A Father's Responsibility Poem by Chidori Storm

Being a father is one of the greatest things
That has ever happened to me
However it is also one of the hardest things
In my life to understand.

For it is both exciting and joyful
As it is straining and stressful
Because of both the sound of laughter and gorgeous smiles
And the not knowing what to do and the constant hunger in the night.

I always heard that it can be easy at times
But I found out the hard way that it doesn't always stay easy
No matter how hard you wish it
Being a father can't always be the easiest thing in the world.

I should know from experience on my part
That mothers in this world
Give us less credit as fathers
Than they do about us knowing how to cook and clean.

What I'm trying to get at is pretty much this
That being a father isn't always a walk in the park
However I will say this about being a father
It is definitely worth it if you love kids and have the fund to support them.

So I'm hoping that I make at being a great father
To the wonderful and beautiful daughter that I have
And to the woman that I'm going to marry
Because I'm ready to die for both of them.
