A Faraway Place Poem by Edwina Reizer

A Faraway Place

Rating: 4.5

Oh if wishes could only come true,
you'd be with me. I'd be with you
and we would travel to a faraway place
where neither of us would have to face
all of the feelings of doubt and fear
that keep us apart and never near.

Life's too complicated I've found out
and so I'm left with so much doubt
as to how and why I can't let go?
All I'm sure of and all I know
is there is no faraway place where we
can escape and forget responsibility.

And so I know my wishes are in vain.
You can't be with me so I'll remain
lost in a world that is unfair,
wondering how and why and where
I can heal my heart, my dear?
For that faraway place is lost, I fear.
