A Fallen Kingdom Poem by Tarakesh Govardhan

A Fallen Kingdom

Rating: 5.0

Broken Kingdom
Starving pesants
yet the soldiers stand strong
Victory harder day by day
Standing guard over the city
like tools of bronze
To be used to protect and serve

Foolish king
Kingdom ablaze
Falling to ash
Taking the kingdom down
Breaking it
Shattering like glass
the first domain down

Proud soldiers on their knees
Empty stomachs, shattered pride
Armies destroyed
Meaning nothing now
Death to resurgent forces
The second domain down

Peasants, innocent by blood
innocent by nature
innocent by work
feeding the wrong
starving the right
guilty by action
removed from existence
The third domain down

Barren lands remain
the proud nation destroyed
broken into pieces
shattered further
the winds of time dispersed them
forgotten nation
victory was sweet
but history repeats.

History has repeated the same mistakes countless times and has always paid the price
