A Fall Of Rain Poem by Linda Harnett

A Fall Of Rain

Autumnal colours,
Gold and russet brown,
The once green leaves,
Are falling,
Falling down,

The sky still blue,
The clouds a wispy white,
The sun is yielding,
To an early,
Night,

The mist rolls in,
From vacant distant hill,
And dampens,
To an early,
Autumn chill,

The golden sunlight,
Dapples tree lined lane,
And a rainbow,
Compensates,
A fall of rain.
