A Dropout Gothic Poem by Kevin Patrick

A Dropout Gothic

Poverties ambition, is found in reproduction
To spit out the vermin of the uterus engine
And ergo make haste the Combustion of offspring
Down the conveyer belt of ergonomic trouble
The decrepit dependents of illiterate wisdom
Sprung from the bonfires of liquors and quickies
For Loves germs are often ignorant of consequences
Fueled by the blind mask of caprice passions
And Youth makes trouble its singular profession
When it doesn’t have discipline as its parent
The rich get rich only because they can think
Outside of the box which the penniless live

Every summer, streets are promenades of destitution
I watch the carnival barbies in their salvation T-shirts
Drooling with fat saturated in their pig wrinkled cheeks
Raving in English with broken idioms and sentences
And their Escorted by princes with three dozen tattoos
That they’ve earned by reputation for doing hard time
With a grit in their skin that’s been tanned by being poor
And branded like the cattle they were born to become
Slaves to the rituals of life’s polluted rivers
While the girls are mindless and bitter for the boys who did them plenty
And the boys are defeated and angry without maps to guide them safely
Leaving them to care for their paramours bunnies
And the cycle continues down in poverties ambition
