A Dreamer's Thoughts Poem by Old Teenage Poems

A Dreamer's Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

Dreams of the future
I hold in my hand
Like pebbles or stones
Or an ocean of sand
They are heavy to carry
these dreams of mine
Like breezes, they're airy
And easily flow away

Without dreams present
Hope is neither there
And without our hopes
All we have is fear

Dreams are our hopes for the morrow - your imagery is exhilarating, enthralling - you have an inner beauty that finds sweet expression. I like the way you perceive and connect. Enjoy your lines a lot.

This is so amazingly true...our dreams really are heavy, and sometimes we cannot lift them, so they are difficult to bear and hang onto. Sometimes a strong wind comes through and carries them away...but we must cling to them, or all we have is the barren, cold, harsh reality that is life...sometimes that is difficult to bear, also. Great work.

the rhythm and the phrasing and the universality as you capture the feelings of everyone through the persona is just absolutely brilliant!
