A Dream Unfulfilled Poem by Marcus McKinley

A Dream Unfulfilled

Bystander
Demander
Roof over head
Food in the fridge
Credit card number
Computer

Phone texting
Game playing
Couch sitting
Intruder

Buy me this
Buy me that
Give me a ride!

I’m going out
‘Cause you want me inside

I’m staying in
‘Cause you want me to move

My attitude will never improve

I’ll never see
All you’ve done for me
‘Cause you owe it to me
For bringing me into this world
