A Diary Six (La Isla Conga) Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

A Diary Six (La Isla Conga)

Rating: 2.5

(dedicated to Mr. Ruerd Visser, apoet friend at poemhunter)

life shall be glad with surprises
wake up where the sun never sinks
with each shrub of romantic fragrance
I lift up my eyes to the Summer moonlight

in health and strength
by reason of your well-being
will you leave me alone in these darker days?
in presence of which one feels oneself inspired

to Friesland, with all pure hopes
I am as one dwelling in a garden
your love and care have penetrated
all within my heart and soul, dear brother
