A Delicious Meer’s Burger Poem by Marilyn Lott

I’d heard about a ‘burger’
Unlike anything I’d ever tasted
I had waited long enough I said
No more time should be wasted

I stopped everything, my friend
I was definitely going on a mission
For the best burger in the world
They made in a special kitchen

Down those red dirt roads I drove
Enjoying the wild flowers to the side
But I was completely determined
To get a awesome burger on this ride

Aha! There it was before me
Meers Restaurant it said on the sign
Not stopping for anything, inside I sped
For hamburger Heaven was the kind

I found a seat and ordered soon
And listened to Ranger Joe’s stories
The building is historic he said
But the burger demanded glory

Before long it was in front of me
The biggest, most juicy burger
Perfect fries accompanied it
I wished I’d been here sooner

I sank my teeth in quickly
Closed my eyes at the deliciousness
Everything I’d heard was right
Crispy fries had the perfect touch

So put it on your agenda, folks
You must not wait another day
A Meers Burger you must have
