A Dedication To Those Who Have Loved And Lost Poem by Georgia Hindmarch

A Dedication To Those Who Have Loved And Lost

Perhaps, there are things better off
Never spoken, whispered or shouted.

Perhaps, there are things better off
Never promised, broken or fulfilled.

‘I love you'

That one disastrously wonderful phrase
Torments me, over and over.

Had I not spoken them to you,
Would you have loved me first?

Had I not promised them to you,
Would you still have walked away?

Tell me I am dreaming.
Take me away from this place of nightmares:
Only horrors await me here.
Without you, my life seems quite pointless.

O why? Why did I confess my love?
For it ruined everything.
But strangely enough for me,
I do not regret it a single day.
