A Dead Memory Poem by kira kira

A Dead Memory

Rating: 3.5

My eyes are changing
My tears are raining down
your voice is haunting
your words are sinking in
but who knows what might happen
who can descide what they see
in your dreams the whispers slowly fade
in your wake your surrounded
the voices, your voice is there
let go of me, quit tearing me back down
let go of me and get out of my head
fade away into the black
into a dead memory
see my face, please let go
you feel your way and hold me close
stay behind the living
and don't come back
fade away into the black
let go of me, stay away from me
let go of me or hear me scream
don't take me down
don't make me die again
i can't handle this pain
my eyes are changing
my tears are raining down
don't mess with me
i'm tired of feeling this pain
i'm gonna scream
your shaking cold freezing me inside you
your burning up
just boiling me in your blood
stop with this pain take it away
out of my head fade with the dead
stay with the dead
leave me alone
i wake crying, i sleep
I'm on fire, i fall
let go of me, quit tearing me back down
let go of me or hear me scream
get out of my head, don't take me down again
let go of me, quit tearing me back down
let go of me get out of my head
don't take me down again
you'll hear me scream
don't take me down again
don't let me die again
fade away into the black
into a dead memory
stay behind the living
be a dead memory
get out! get out! of my head

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A Dead Memory i wrote when i was about 13 or 14 and its about my step grandfather. he molested me when i was little for years up until he died. The memory of what he did literally haunted me i had nightmares every night. i saw him in the dark. i couldn't get him out of my head. there wasn't a day that went by that i didn't think about him. I'm terrified of the dark because for some reason i always see him and it scares me. i used to have panic attacks because of it. this poem is all about me wanting to forget before it literally drove me crazy.
